Job DetailsJob Location: Olean, NY 14760Position Type: TRANS AM AMBULANCESalary Range: $16.50 - $18.50 HourlyJob Category: EMR / EMT / AEMTJOB IDENTIFICATION Department: Operations             Reports to: Duty Supervisor, VPO, and Office Administrator   JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY To provide safe, courteous, and professional patient transportation while operating company vehicles in accordance with company policies, applicable regulations, and required procedures. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: a. Responsibly and safely operate an ambulance, wheelchair van, or other company vehicle. b. Accurately, legibly, and completely prepare Prehospital Care Reports, assignment of benefit forms, billing forms, CMNs, PCSs, and any other required paperwork. c. Thoroughly clean each company vehicle after use. d. Thoroughly clean any company area or equipment after use. e. Conduct oneself in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner at all times while on duty. f. Report to work on time, appropriately prepared, and ready for duty. g. Perform all duties as directed by the ORM. h. Report to the ORM on duty as directed. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: a. A valid driver’s license, CDL-C or higher, with a passenger endorsement is required. b. The candidate must have a clean driving record. c. The candidate must pass a physical ability test. d. The candidate must pass a pre-employment physical exam. e. The candidate must pass a pre-employment drug screen. f. The candidate must be willing to work irregular hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends.       g. The candidate must be willing to be on call as directed. QualificationsEducational Requirements The candidate must have a high school diploma or GED or be scheduled for graduation. The candidate must have a good driving record and be at least 18 years old. A current CPR card issued by ARC, AHA, or NSC is required.   Mental Requirements of the Job Reading and writing skills are required. Experience working with the public is essential.     Job Responsibilities Related to HIPAA Compliance The incumbent is expected to protect the privacy and security of all protected health information (PHI) and electronic PHI (e-PHI) in accordance with the Company’s privacy and security policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal [and state] law, and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a health care provider.  Failure to comply with the Company’s policies and procedures regarding the privacy and security of PHI and e-PHI may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment or of membership or association with Trans Am Ambulance Services, Inc. The incumbent may access PHI and e-PHI only to the extent necessary to complete assigned job duties.  The incumbent may share such information only with individuals who need specific patient information to complete job responsibilities related to treatment, payment, or other company operations. The incumbent is encouraged and expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding the Company’s policies and procedures on patient privacy or security and any observed practices in violation of those policies to the designated Privacy/Information Security Officer. The incumbent is expected to actively participate in Company privacy and security training and is required to communicate privacy policy information to coworkers, students, patients, and others in accordance with Company policy.
