JOB TITLE: Human Resources (HR) Coordinator
CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Non-Exempt
PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Human Resources
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides assistance in the multiple and varied human resource functional areas with the goal of ensuring the HR Department runs smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the Agency. The Human Resource Coordinator administers various plans in accordance with federal and state regulations. The Coordinator will provide administrative support to the human resource function, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry as it relates to onboarding new employees, employee benefits administration, training and development, performance monitoring, employee relations, labor relations and development and implementation of policies/procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education, Training & Experience:
Associate’s Degree and two (2) years Human Resource Management experience.
OR
High School Diploma/GED with three (3) years Human Resource Management experience.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs to include Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Also knowledgeable in internet use and portal data entry.
Preferred Education, Training & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Promote a positive and effective team environment with all levels of staff.
Knowledgeable in federal and New York State employment, employee benefits and labor law.
Must present a positive and professional image as it relates to internal and external communications, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to plan, multi-task, and manage time effectively.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and prepare accurate records and reports.
Ability to maintain current knowledge of employee benefit plans
Ability to identify discrepancies and reconcile information from various source documents
Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced office environment
Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines
Ability to accurately process numbers and information for extended periods of time
SALARY:
$20-$24 per hour starting rate based on experience
