Your Role on Our Team:

The Senior Manager of Slotting and Inventory Management is responsible for leading inventory strategy, slotting optimization, inventory accuracy, and proactive inventory movement across a multi-building distribution network. This role owns the development and execution of scalable processes that improve inventory availability, reduce operational friction, increase pick efficiency, and support on-time customer fulfillment. This leader partners closely with Operations, Inbound Planning, Transportation, Engineering, IT, Finance, and Supply Chain leadership to ensure inventory is positioned in the right location, at the right time, with the right controls to support service, capacity, productivity, and cost objectives.

You’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Embrace, demonstrate, and require Milwaukee Tool Culture to be the foundation for daily decision-making, team accountability, and cross-functional partnership.
  • Lead the slotting and inventory management function across multiple distribution facilities, providing direction to managers, supervisors, analysts, and support teams responsible for inventory health, slotting execution, transfer planning, and materials management.
  • Develop and execute the long-term slotting and inventory strategy to support service levels, capacity utilization, labor productivity, automation performance, and network growth.
  • Own KPIs for inventory availability, inventory accuracy, FBO rate, replenishment efficiency, slot utilization, transfer effectiveness, pick productivity impact, and adherence to slotting strategy.
  • Build organizational capability by developing leaders and associates through coaching, standard work, problem solving, data-driven decision making, and clear ownership of daily and strategic priorities.
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to design and improve inventory flows, storage strategies, min/max logic, pick locations, replenishment processes, automation rules, and building-specific slotting plans.
  • Drive proactive inventory movement and cross-building rebalancing decisions based on demand, space, service risk, transfer impact, and operational readiness.
  • Ensure alignment across Operations, Inbound Planning, Transportation, IT, Finance, and Supply Chain partners on inventory priorities, building assignments, system changes, and project execution.
  • Provide regular performance feedback, prioritization guidance, and development support to leaders and team members to strengthen execution discipline and employee growth.
  • Maintain a safety-first mindset by ensuring inventory projects, slotting changes, storage solutions, and process improvements comply with safety standards and site requirements.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to translate business objectives into measurable inventory management initiatives, scorecards, project roadmaps, and sustainable operating routines.
  • Provide innovative solutions to complex inventory, slotting, capacity, and systems challenges while balancing customer service, cost, labor, and building constraints.

Build organizational capacity by creating scalable processes, clear accountability, and future-ready inventory management capabilities that support continued network growth.

The TOOLS you’ll bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in distribution, inventory management, supply chain, slotting, engineering, or operations
  • Demonstrated experience leading managers, supervisors, analysts, or cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution environment
  • Strong knowledge of distribution center operations, inventory control, slotting strategy, WMS functionality, automation systems, replenishment logic, and operational performance metrics
  • Must demonstrate excellent analytical, problem-solving, and logic thinking skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business decisions
