 Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Production Line Lead is to oversee the daily line activities within their department in order to achieve established production targets according to the standard operating procedures and guidelines by performing the following.

 

Essential Job Functions (listing most important first):

  1. Set up and monitor production line to ensure that all components are connected correctly, operational and functioning within quality specifications; inspect to ensure that all tools, components, PPE, and needed materials are readily available to perform job tasks.
  2. Assign tasks, provide directives and instructions to employees to maximize quality and productivity.
  3. Constantly observe all aspects of the production line during production to quickly identify, troubleshoot, intervene, and resolve any issues with production or fulfilling orders on time. Promptly communicate with all appropriate persons and supervisor all outcomes.
  4. Inspect final product and coordinate sampling with Quality Assurance department.
  5. Complete paperwork and all associated administrative tasks related to the production line, to include production documentation, etc. Provide daily reporting of production quantity and defects.
  6. Ensure that all members of the team follow company policies and that healthy and safety regulations are being enforced to meet safety requirements.
  7. Follow Standard Operating procedures (SOP’s), Safety guidelines, and adhere to company standards.
  8. Ensure that work environment is maintained clean, safe, and organized.
  9. Follow safe work procedures. Identify and report unsafe practices to management immediately.
  10. Complete daily assigned tasks to meet schedule volume and production goals.
  11. Perform related duties as required by supervision.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED is required; Vocational or Technical training preferred.
  • One year (1) previous experience in manufacturing or warehouse setting is required.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills to relay instructions and procedures so that all tasks are completed accurately and on time; effectively communicate information and respond to questions from various levels within the organization.
  • Strong leadership skills to provide work leadership in order to motivate employees to perform their best, show support and guidance when necessary
  • Must be team oriented and work well as part of a team in order to effectively collaborate with other departments to effectively and efficiently meet established goals for the company
  • Time management abilities to efficiently manage their own time, as well as the time of the production line
  • Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skills are required to think quickly and proactively resolve any issue(s) as soon as possible. 
  • Requires strong reasoning ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where limited standards exist; ability to interpret information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to moderately loud within the warehouse.
  • This is a fast paced, hands-on physical work environment and is required to stand for long periods of time
  • Involves stressful situations and accountability to adhere to production standards on a daily basis
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, reaching, feeling, handling and grasping of materials
  • Must be able to lift weight up to 50 pounds
