Location: The University of Olivet - Olivet, Michigan

Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer

Salary Range: $50,000–$70,000, commensurate with experience


Position Summary

 

The University of Olivet seeks a strategically minded, brand-aware, digitally fluent

professional to serve as Director of Marketing.


Working closely with the Chief Marketing Officer, the Director will help define, develop, and

strengthen University of Olivet’s brand. This includes clarifying the University’s market role,

communicating its distinctive value and ensuring the brand is expressed consistently across enrollment marketing, digital media, content, and institutional communications.


The Director will use research, analytics, digital strategy, and artificial intelligence to

increase awareness, strengthen engagement, and support enrollment growth. This is a high impact opportunity for an emerging leader to shape how prospective students, families, and the wider community perceive The University of Olivet.


Responsibilities

 

• Work with the CMO to develop marketing strategies aligned with enrollment,

revenue, and institutional aims.

• Identify priority audiences, markets, programs, and growth opportunities.

• Strengthen The University of Olivet’s brand positioning by leveraging value

propositions and competitive differentiation.

• Partner with Admissions to improve inquiry, application, deposit, and enrollment

results.

• Recommend how to allocate marketing resources across audiences, campaigns, and

channels.

• Establish performance measures that connect marketing activity to enrollment and

revenue.

• Use research, analytics, and testing to evaluate strategies and recommend changes.

• Lead the responsible use of AI for research, segmentation, personalization, content

development, forecasting, and performance analysis.

• Coordinate the work of employees, agencies, freelancers, and external partners.


Qualifications

Required 


• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, analytics, digital media, or

a comparable field.

• Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to translate company goals into

executable plans.

• Strong knowledge of digital marketing, audience strategy, and performance

measurement.

• Working knowledge of artificial intelligence and its responsible use in marketing.

• Skill to interpret data and communicate its strategic implications.

• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

• Relevant professional experience in marketing, communications, enrollment

marketing, agency work, or a comparable field.

• Commitment to the mission and values of the University of Olivet.


Preferred


• Master’s degree in a related field.

• Approximately two to five years of progressive marketing experience.

• Experience in higher education or another mission-focused organization.

• Familiarity with enrollment funnels, CRM systems, marketing automation, analytics,

or audience segmentation.

• Experience leading projects, teams, budgets, agencies, or vendors.

• Evidence of marketing work that produced measurable results.


Higher-education experience is welcomed but not required. Candidates from agencies,

consumer marketing, technology, nonprofit organizations, and other sectors are encouraged to apply.
