CMO Partnership Manager (Contract Manufacturing Project and Relationship Management)
Elemental Enzymes is looking for a self-motivated Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) Partnership Manager to play an integral part in our manufacturing department. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, “start-up” environment, demonstrates flexibility, takes initiative, exercises sound judgment, and excels at time management. They must also be comfortable taking on additional projects and responsibilities as needed to meet goals and deliverables.
As the CMO Relations Manager they will act as the liaison between Elemental Enzymes and their assigned CMO’s. The successful candidate will join a team that is passionate about creating sustainable, biochemical-based solutions to agricultural challenges.
Job Description:
CMO Relationship Management & Communication
- Serve as the single point of contact (SPoC) for assigned strategic CMOs, owning day-to-day communication and relationship management.
- Plan and facilitate meetings between CMO personnel and EE staff, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and follow-up on action items.
- Triage inbound CMO questions, directing technical inquiries to the appropriate EE subject-matter experts.
- Drive onboarding of new CMOs, including NDAs, vendor setup in NetSuite, and facilitation of CMO readiness and selection process flow.
- Coordinate logistics for site visits, audits, and related travel.
- Support CMO.
Production Scheduling & Coordination
- Lead securing and maintaining production slots at assigned CMOs according to demand forecast.
- Lead CMO project management including coordinating with internal stakeholders to drive adherence to project timelines, gathering of deliverables, and alignment to business strategy.
- Communicate EE demand forecasts, schedule changes, and priority shifts to the CMO in a timely manner.
- Serve as the information conduit between the CMO and internal teams on timelines, run status, and documentation.
- Coordinate inbound shipment of raw materials to the CMO and outbound shipment of finished goods to EE or customers.
- Coordinate raw material requirements and sourcing at CMOs with the facility and internal stakeholders.
Data & Documentation
- Enter and maintain accurate CMO records in the ERP (NetSuite), internal manufacturing tracker (MRP), and document management system (Box).
- Obtain batch records, COAs, and shipping documentation from the CMO on schedule and file them in Box.
- Maintain organized records of CMO correspondence, meeting minutes, and scheduling commitments.
Contracts, POs & Invoicing
- Administer CMO agreements, work orders, and purchase orders; monitor renewal and expiration dates and flag upcoming actions.
- Route CMO invoices for approval and reconcile them against purchase orders and completed production runs.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain a master production run calendar and deliver regular status updates to internal stakeholders.
- Monitor, track, and trend CMO performance metrics (e.g., on-time delivery, documentation completeness).
- Log delays, discrepancies, and complaints; escalate to the appropriate EE owner and track through resolution.
- Maintain list and records of CMO capabilities, standings, documentation, etc.
Other
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience or High School Diploma with 5+ years of experience.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to work independently and with others to accomplish goals and priorities.
- Familiarity working in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, specifically NetSuite is preferred.
- Must be proficient using Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Lists.
- Familiarity with document management systems preferred.
- Flexibility in job function and teamwork skills.
- High level of energy and regular, consistent attendance.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to make informed decisions with little or no direct supervision.
