Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an EEG Tech, you will perform diagnostic Electroencephalography, seizure monitoring, and evoked potential recordings of the brain or central nervous system per physician orders and established protocols.Every day you will prepare patients, ensure a safe testing environment, execute studies, observe and document results, and monitor equipment, all under direct healthcare provider supervision.To be successful, you will possess thorough knowledge of EEG equipment, continuously update your skills, and actively participate in quality assurance programs to uphold diagnostic accuracy and patient safety.

  • Performs standard and complex electroencephalographic recordings.
  • Assists physician with electromyography. Places the patient on the examination table and explains procedure.
  • Keeps equipment in a clean operating condition. Troubleshoots and repairs minor malfunctions in the equipment. Initiates repair of malfunctioning equipment.
  • Practices strict ethical enforcement of protected medical and employee confidentiality. Uses confidential information only as needed to perform legitimate duties.
  • Transports patients, maintaining safety and comfort.
  • Authorized to make entries in the medical record, consistent with and limited to the scope of the job duties and any applicable licensure.

Job Requirements

Required

  • One to two years clinical experience in EEG/EMG lab or
  • medical assisting experience
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
