Overview
As our IT Business Analyst, you will be responsible for acting as a critical liaison between the business and technical teams, translating business needs into clear functional specifications and ensuring software solutions meet high-quality standards. You will gather requirements, design validation strategies, and execute testing to verify deliverables, including writing scripts as part of Test-Driven Development (TDD). This role requires strong collaboration with IT and business stakeholders to ensure project outcomes align with business objectives. Additionally, this role will serve as a subject matter expert, supporting technical teams in understanding functional requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to obtain and maintain a solid understanding of business process flows and their relationship to IT solutions
- Ability to translate conceptual solutions into meaningful documentation, including user stories, specifications, data flow diagrams, and process models
- Ability to assess current customer, enterprise, and industry trends and relate them to business performance
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in clear, non-technical language
- Strong collaboration skills, working effectively across business and technical teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) for documentation, presentations, and analysis.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience
- 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Business Analyst, QA Engineer, or related discipline
- 2+ years of experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements
- 1+ years of experience developing scripts as part of Test-Driven Development (TDD) to validate requirements
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering to deployment and validation preferred
- Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., TestComplete, Selenium, QuickTest Pro) preferred
- Experience with source control tools such as Git, GitHub or GitLab preferred
- Experience using SQL for data retrieval and manipulation preferred
