The Role
As Lead Technician II, you'll be the most experienced hands-on technician on our team β running complex restoration jobs, training and mentoring junior techs, and serving as the technical point of escalation on-site. You'll work closely with our Operations Manager and Lead Technician to ensure every job meets IICRC standards and Voda's quality bar.
What You'll Do
β Lead water damage, fire damage, and mold remediation jobs from initial assessment through completion
β Operate and calibrate moisture-mapping equipment, air movers, dehumidifiers, and containment setups
β Perform and oversee Xactimate-based scoping and documentation for insurance claims
β Train, mentor, and quality-check junior and mid-level technicians in the field
β Serve as the on-site technical authority for complex or high-value restoration jobs
β Maintain clear communication with adjusters, GCs, and homeowners on job status
β Ensure jobs are completed safely, on schedule, and to IICRC/insurance documentation standards
β Support duct cleaning and EnviroBiotics service delivery as needed
β Accurately complete work orders, job logs, and mobile documentation
β Maintain and care for company equipment, tools, and vehicle
β Stay current on cross-training in mold, fire, trauma, and odor services
What You Bring
β 5+ years of hands-on water/fire/mold restoration experience
β IICRC certifications required: WRT (Water Damage Restoration Technician) and AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician)
β Additional IICRC certifications a plus (ASD, FSRT, OCT, CCT)
β Experience with Xactimate scoping and insurance-driven restoration workflows a plus
β Proven ability to lead and train other technicians
β Strong communication skills with homeowners, insurance adjusters, and GCs
β Valid driver's license and clean driving record
β Ability to work flexible hours, including emergency/storm response calls
β Comfortable using mobile devices for daily reports and job documentation
β Comfortable with hands-on physical work
