IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Manager, Underwriting Support to work out of one of the following IAT office locations:
- Scottsdale, Arizona
- Rolling Meadows, Illinois
- Kansas City, Missouri
- Omaha, Nebraska
This role is primarily responsible for the strategic and operational leadership for Operations staff supporting the Management Liability business segment. The role ensures scalable, efficient and high-quality underwriting support services while driving process improvement, workforce planning, and cross functional alignment with underwriting and operations leadership. Â
This role works a hybrid schedule that requires working from the office Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy: Lead, mentor and develop account managers and supervisors. Establish team goals, performance metrics and capacity plans aligned with business objectives. Drive a culture of accountability, quality and continuous improvement.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee end to end underwriting support operations new business set up, policy issuance, renewals and endorsements. Ensure consistent application of procedures, workflows and best practices. Manage volume fluctuations and resource allocation to support underwriting demand.
- Quality, Risk & Compliance: Own quality management processes, including audits, remediation and reporting. Ensure regulatory compliance, internal controls and adherence to underwriting guidelines. Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Process Improvement & Transformation: Lead process optimization initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy and customer experience. Partner with technology and  underwriting teams on system upgrades, automation and data initiatives. Analyze KPIs and performance data metric trends to inform decisions and improvements.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as a key operational partner to underwriting leadership. Communicate performance, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership. Collaborate to support product growth and operational initiatives.
- Financial and Resource Management: Support budget planning, forecasting and vendor or outsourcing strategies as applicable. Optimize staffing models and leverage tools/automation to manage costs and scale operations
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Associate’s degree
- 5+ years of underwriting or insurance operations experience
- 3+ years of people management experience, managing supervisors or a large team
- Strategic mindset with hands-on operational expertise
- Strong leadership and change management capabilities
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills Â
- Project and process management skills
- Deep understanding of underwriting workflows and insurance systems
- Excellent executive level communication and stakeholder management skills
- Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the above requirements

Compensation:
Please note, that the annual gross salary range associated with this posting is $80,800 – $127,900. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographical location related to this specific role. The total compensation will include a base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(K) match, profit-sharing opportunities, and more.Â
