The Feed Ingredient Division is seeking qualified candidates for a Merchandiser Assistant II (MAII) to support business operations in the Omaha, NE office. The MAII has primary responsibility for effectively performing all accounting tasks relating to the business unit(s) assigned in an efficient manner following all company and market group policies and procedures. The MAII maintains positive customer and supplier/vendor relations and proactively monitors reports to ensure payments and cash receipts on time.  The MA II exhibits excellent teamwork with other business units and personnel and assists in training new merchandisers and merchandiser assistants (MAs). The MA II reviews business reports for his/her assigned business units and serves as a primary resource for merchandisers and MA questions. The MAII strives for continuous improvement and embraces new technology and changes to processes and procedures.

Essential Functions:

Review reports, identifying actionable items and resolutions for their assigned trade unit and serve as a primary resource for merchandiser and MA questions. Ensure all inventories are reconciled monthly. Provides customer and logistics support. Will handle challenging issues from MA I and escalate, with recommendations, to the merchandiser if needed. Collaborates with Assistant Controller/Controller to ensure procedures/policies are followed.

Responsible for effectively performing assigned accounting tasks relating to the trade unit(s) in a highly efficient manner including but not limited to: daily ticket upload/creation and maintenance. Process final settlements in a timely manner. Process daily cash receipts and follow up on outstanding receivables and unapplied cash.
- Works on various projects (from testing to training) at the direction of controller, related to Scoular’s CTRM, TMS and/or any other relevant systems. Â
- Provides training and direction to co-workers upon manager’s request. Takes a broad perspective to problems and spots new, less obvious solutions.
- Assist in managing inbound and outbound logistics while working with internal and external stakeholders to help lead overall supply chain process.
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years commodity/agriculture experience
- Previous Merchandiser Assistant experience.
- Strong math skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Complex problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to transfer knowledge or train team members
- MS Excel proficiency
- Knowledge of buying/selling commodities
