Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday

  • Occasional Saturday on-call coverage at Oakview

  • Initial on-the-job training may be scheduled during different hours based on operational needs

Primary Location: Village Pointe Health Center

This position will be based primarily at the Village Pointe laboratory and will be cross-trained to support Oakview Health Center and the Gretna laboratory once it opens.

Priority consideration will be given to applicants with previous phlebotomy work experience or completion of a phlebotomy course that included hands-on training.

Duties: Outpatient Phlebotomist

Responsible for collecting and transporting patient specimens for clinical laboratory testing while following departmental identification and safety procedures. Perform, evaluate, and report patient testing using point-of-care instrumentation as assigned. Provide professional, compassionate service to patients and contribute to a productive and supportive work environment. May also process and distribute patient specimens for clinical laboratory testing.

Required Qualifications: Outpatient Phlebotomist

  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.

  • High school education or equivalent required.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills required.

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.

  • Computer experience required.

  • Attention to detail required.

  • Ability to multitask required.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.

Preferred Qualifications: Outpatient Phlebotomist

  • Direct patient care experience, completion of a phlebotomy course, or previous phlebotomy experience preferred.

  • Phlebotomy certification, PBT (ASCP), preferred.
