Occasional Saturday on-call coverage at Oakview
Initial on-the-job training may be scheduled during different hours based on operational needs
Primary Location: Village Pointe Health Center
This position will be based primarily at the Village Pointe laboratory and will be cross-trained to support Oakview Health Center and the Gretna laboratory once it opens.
Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Phlebotomist to support patients in our outpatient laboratory setting. Phlebotomists are vital members of our healthcare team, and we are looking for someone who combines strong technical skills with excellent customer service and a commitment to creating a positive patient experience.
Priority consideration will be given to applicants with previous phlebotomy work experience or completion of a phlebotomy course that included hands-on training.

Duties: Outpatient Phlebotomist
Responsible for collecting and transporting patient specimens for clinical laboratory testing while following departmental identification and safety procedures. Perform, evaluate, and report patient testing using point-of-care instrumentation as assigned. Provide professional, compassionate service to patients and contribute to a productive and supportive work environment. May also process and distribute patient specimens for clinical laboratory testing.
Required Qualifications: Outpatient Phlebotomist
Minimum of 18 years of age required.
High school education or equivalent required.
Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.
Computer experience required.
Attention to detail required.
Ability to multitask required.
Knowledge of medical terminology required.
Preferred Qualifications: Outpatient Phlebotomist
Direct patient care experience, completion of a phlebotomy course, or previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
Phlebotomy certification, PBT (ASCP), preferred.
