Job Summary
This position is responsible for accurately picking and preparing customer orders within a warehouse environment. Duties include retrieving product from storage locations, building and wrapping pallets, and ensuring orders meet productivity, quality, and safety expectations. The role regularly involves operating a sit-down forklift, along with other powered industrial equipment, and may require working in various temperature-controlled areas, including dry, ambient, or climate-controlled zones.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately pick and process customer orders by retrieving items from assigned rack or pick locations.
Build, stack, wrap, and label pallets in accordance with operational standards to ensure safe and accurate shipment.
Consistently meet productivity and accuracy benchmarks.
Safely lift and handle products weighing 5–60 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
Operate powered warehouse equipment such as sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace by disposing of debris, broken pallets, shrink wrap, and other materials properly.
Perform equipment inspections using established safety checklists to ensure machinery is in proper working condition.
Identify and report damaged goods, inventory discrepancies, and out-of-stock items to a supervisor.
Assist with product rotation, staging freight at dock doors, and supporting shipping and receiving activities.
Provide support with transportation scheduling, documentation processing, and additional operational tasks as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs.
Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the facility.
Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching.
Extended time operating powered industrial equipment.
Exposure to moderate noise levels in a warehouse setting.
Occasional desk work involving computer and monitor use.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous warehouse or distribution center experience preferred.
Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial equipment preferred.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and varying shifts.
Basic math, reading, and writing skills required.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, warehouse management systems, and handheld scanning devices preferred.
