Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  1. Molecular and cell biology techniques: DNA extraction, genotyping, immunohistochemistry, western blot, RNAscope.
  2. Animal dissection and sample preparation: inner ear dissection, cochleae/utricle dissociation, cell collection by FACS or glass pipette suction technique, cryosection.
  3. Next Generation Sequencing: library prep for RNAseq, ATACseq and Cut&Run.
  4. Auditory and Vestibular function tests: ABR, DPOAE, VsEP.
  5. Microscopy: confocal and SEM.
