  • 8–10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with direct experience in securities, derivatives, hedge accounting, bank accounting, or treasury-related activities highly preferred.

  • Strong technical accounting foundation, sound judgment, and ability to apply complex accounting concepts in a practical, well-controlled operating environment.

  • Experience with operational accounting, treasury platforms, accounting systems, implementation efforts, testing, and project management in a high-volume environment.

  • Experience with Calypso Technology, or comparable treasury or capital markets platforms a plus.

  • Relevant bank, broker-dealer, financial services, capital markets, or treasury experience preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyze complex data and present insights clearly to a range of stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate complex accounting and business matters into concise, decision-useful messages.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, manage multiple priorities, take ownership of complex deliverables, and operate effectively in a dynamic, highly collaborative environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as the accounting lead for derivatives and hedge accounting activities, including partnering with Accounting Policy on the application of technical accounting guidance to hedging strategies involving swaps, caps, floors, and other derivative products.

  • Oversee the accounting and control environment for available-for-sale and held-to-maturity securities, including close activities, analysis, reconciliations, and reporting support.

  • Partner with Treasury and liquidity teams on funding initiatives, including repurchase agreements, FHLB and Federal Reserve funding sources, and other balance sheet management activities.

  • Provide clear, well-supported responses to questions from SEC Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, Accounting Policy, senior leadership, and external auditors regarding derivatives, investments, funding activities, and related accounting conclusions.

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Investments and Hedge Accounting team, with responsibility for system implementation efforts, operational accounting support, SOX compliance, and month-end close execution.
