The Vascular Sonographer performs diagnostic imaging studies and supports clinic and procedural workflows. This role prepares patients and charts, performs vascular and/or cardiac ultrasound studies, maintains accurate documentation, assists with discharge and room turnover, supports supply oversight and outreach clinics, and helps ensure high-quality imaging and patient safety. This role is based at the Omaha area location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patient charts, room patients, and support a professional, efficient patient intake process.
  • Perform vascular ultrasound studies in accordance with provider orders, clinical protocols, and quality standards.
  • Assist with patient discharge, room turnover, and preparation for subsequent appointments or procedures.
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in EMR and Medireport systems.
  • Assist with supply oversight, including monitoring inventory levels, restocking as needed, and communicating supply needs.
  • Support outreach clinic operations, including imaging workflow, patient preparation, documentation, and coordination with clinic staff.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and equipment-related needs with the Ultrasound Lead to support safe and reliable imaging operations.
  • Promote high-quality imaging, patient safety, and compliance with applicable clinical, infection prevention, HIPAA, and workplace safety standards.


Work Environment and Schedule

  • Work is performed primarily in a professional outpatient healthcare clinic, diagnostic imaging, and/or procedural support environment.
  • This role involves frequent interaction with patients, providers, clinical team members, and administrative staff.
  • The position requires use of ultrasound imaging equipment, EMR and Medireport systems, computers, phones, and standard clinical or office equipment.
  • The role may involve exposure to standard healthcare environment conditions and requires adherence to infection control, patient privacy, safety, and workplace policies.
  • Schedule is generally during regular business hours, with flexibility needed to support patient care schedules, outreach clinics, procedure volume, and occasional changes in workflow.
  • Regular, reliable attendance and punctuality are essential responsibilities of this role in order to support patient schedules, imaging workflow, clinic coverage, and coordinated team operations.

Qualifications

  • RVT credential (or registry-eligible)
  • Vascular ultrasound experience preferred
  • Active BLS certification

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the clinic or imaging environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to assist with patient positioning, rooming, discharge, and room turnover activities.
  • Ability to operate ultrasound imaging equipment, computers, phones, and standard clinical equipment throughout the workday.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and in writing with patients and team members.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull supplies, equipment, or materials typically weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform duties requiring visual attention to detail, including imaging studies, documentation, patient charts, and computer screens.
