Position Overview Starlight Behavioral Health is seeking full-time Caregivers / Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in the Huntington, WV area to provide compassionate, hands-on support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). In this role, you'll help individuals live safely, build independence, and participate in their communities while delivering high-quality, person-centered care. Whether you're an experienced caregiver or looking to begin a meaningful career in human services, we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed. This opportunity is ideal for applicants with experience as a: Direct Support Professional (DSP) Caregiver Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Home Health Aide (HHA) Personal Care Aide (PCA) Home Care Worker Residential Caregiver Behavioral Health Technician Or anyone with a passion for helping others Your Responsibilities As a Caregiver / Direct Support Professional, you will: Deliver compassionate, person-centered care that promotes each individual's safety, health, and quality of life. Assist with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, and mobility support. Help maintain a clean, comfortable home while assisting with meal preparation, housekeeping, and other daily household responsibilities. Implement each individual's Individualized Program Plan (IPP) and follow behavior support strategies. Encourage independence by teaching and reinforcing daily living, communication, and social skills. Transport individuals safely to appointments, recreational activities, shopping, and community events. Complete required documentation, progress notes, and incident reports accurately and on schedule. Respond appropriately to behavioral, medical, or environmental emergencies while maintaining a calm, supportive approach.
