Job DetailsJob Location: Oneida Health Women's Health - Oneida , NY 13421Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $36.00 - $45.72 HourlyJob Shift: DaysJob Summary: This position exists in the Radiology Department and involves responsibility for performing diagnostic medical examinations of patients using real-time ultrasound imaging and duplex Doppler ultrasound. The work is performed under the general direction of a Radiologist, with leeway allowed for exercising independent judgment in carrying out technical details of the work. The incumbent performs related work as required. Key Responsibilities: Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by Radiologist, evaluating images for technical and diagnostic quality. Instruct patients regarding procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum test results. Maintain equipment and work area to ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness for procedures. Follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment to ensure patient and staff safety. Maintain and record appropriate documentation regarding procedures according to established protocols. Assist with training and supervision of student interns as needed. QualificationsEducation: Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology program. Experience: Relevant clinical experience in diagnostic ultrasound imaging is preferred but not required. Licenses and Certification: RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) Eligible or RDMS Certified. Professional Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in performing ultrasound procedures and using ultrasound equipment. Ability to evaluate ultrasound images for technical and diagnostic quality. Strong communication skills to instruct and reassure patients during procedures. Attention to detail for maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring high-quality diagnostic images. Ability to maintain equipment and work area according to safety and cleanliness standards. Capability to work both independently and under the general direction of a Radiologist. Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare team members. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods while performing ultrasound procedures. Manual dexterity to operate ultrasound equipment. Ability to lift and position patients as needed. Visual acuity to evaluate diagnostic images and read detailed information. Good hearing to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
