Position Summary

ABBA Roller is seeking a Grinder Technician – Level 1 to support the finishing process of industrial rollers and wheels. This role operates grinding and polishing equipment to achieve required product dimensions and surface finishes. This is an entry-level position ideal for candidates with basic manufacturing or machine operation experience.

About ABBA: ABBA Roller specializes in high-performance urethane rollers and custom elastomer solutions for industrial and commercial applications. We support customers across diverse industries with durable, precision-engineered products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate grinding and polishing machines to remove excess material and achieve specified dimensions.
  • Load and unload rollers or wheels onto grinding equipment using proper lifting techniques.
  • Perform basic grinding operations under supervision following established procedures.
  • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions.
  • Monitor machine operation and identify potential defects or equipment issues.
  • Maintain documentation of production output and quality checks.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures.
  • Assist senior technicians with machine setup and tooling changes when needed.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing or machine operation.
  • Experience with grinders, lathes, or polishing equipment is a plus but not required.

Desired Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Attention to detail and focus on quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours per shift.
  • Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment.
