Position Summary

The Field Installation & Service Technician at WCCTV is responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining mobile CCTV surveillance systems at customer sites. This role involves hands-on technical work including system programming, troubleshooting, and equipment deployment across Southern California areas. The position requires a customer-focused professional who can ensure systems are properly installed, fully operational, and meet customer expectations while maintaining safety and efficiency in a field environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install wireless CCTV systems including cameras, routers, and solar surveillance trailers
  • Program and configure surveillance systems prior to deployment
  • Travel to customer sites to deliver, install, and commission equipment
  • Perform service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on CCTV systems
  • Conduct de-installation and decommissioning of equipment and return to depot
  • Complete installation documentation and obtain customer sign-off
  • Communicate with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams regarding installations and service needs
  • Manage tools, vehicle inventory, and ensure readiness for field work
  • Adhere to safety protocols and field service standards
  • Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; electronics or low-voltage certification preferred
  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience installing and servicing CCTV or low-voltage systems
  • Experience with alarm systems, access control, and surveillance equipment required
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and system configuration
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and diagnostic software
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position operates primarily in a professional office environment and may require occasional travel to company locations. The role requires the ability to remain seated for extended periods and to occasionally lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
