Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Facilities maintenance and EHS professional with experience in facilities maintenance as well as environmental health and safety activities to join our team. This position will be responsible for the inspection, repair, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment across various applications, sometimes through the management of contractors. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preventive Maintenance:
    • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
    • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to reduce equipment downtime and prolong lifespan.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair:
    • Diagnose mechanical issues using a variety of tools and techniques, including diagnostic equipment, to identify problems.
    • Execute repairs on mechanical systems, including engines, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and other machinery.
    • Troubleshoot facility related systems such as HVAC, building electrical, plumbing, air compressors and lines, exhaust units, etc.
  • System Installation:
    • Assist with the installation of new equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
    • Collaborate with management and sometimes contracted services to ensure seamless integration of new systems into existing operations.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in compliance with company policies.
    • Prepare reports on maintenance activities and equipment performance for management review.
  • Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Participate in safety training and contribute to a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other departments, including production, service and quality assurance, to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions.
    • Coordinate office moves and set up workspaces according to employee needs and organizational requirements.
    • Assist in training or cross departmental support where necessary.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Help manage and track inventory levels of maintenance supplies and parts, ensuring availability for repairs.
    • Recommend procurement of parts and tools to maintain operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in mechanics or a related field is preferred.
    • Experience with EHS activities within a manufacturing facility
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of [3-5] years of experience in mechanical maintenance or repair.
    • Strong knowledge of various mechanical systems and components, including engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in the use of hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and machinery related to mechanical maintenance.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Certifications:
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE, EPA) are a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to [50 lbs] and perform tasks requiring standing, bending, and manual dexterity.
  • Willingness to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, and weather.
