The Quality Technician / Inspector supports manufacturing operations by performing inspections, managing nonconformances, and applying practical quality tools to ensure products meet engineering specifications and customer requirements. This role is hands-on and collaborative, with a strong focus on problem-solving, data-driven decisions, and continuous improvement.

This position is located in Opelika, AL. 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM聽

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections
  • Develop and maintain product-specific inspection plans and quality documentation
  • Administer Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), including investigation, documentation, and follow-up actions
  • Apply quality tools to identify root causes, trends, and corrective actions
  • Partner with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues
  • Support production teams with inspection methods, measurement techniques, and quality metrics
  • Create, update, and maintain work instructions for critical manufacturing processes
  • Accurately record inspection results and prepare quality reports for management review

Quality Tools & Methods (Working Knowledge Expected)

  • Root Cause Analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa)
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Control Plans and basic PPAP concepts
  • Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA)
  • Use of quality data to track trends and drive improvement

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality or inspection role
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills

Preferred:

  • Technical degree or quality-related training/certification (ASQ, CQI, etc.)
  • Experience working within a formal Quality Management System
  • Automotive, performance, or manufacturing industry experience

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Manufacturing and office environment
  • Frequent standing, bending, and handling of parts
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Moderate noise levels
