Nursing Assistant - 5N (PRN)

About the Role: (PRN-on call position)

The Nursing Assistant plays a critical role in delivering compassionate and high-quality care to patients in various healthcare settings across the United States. This position focuses on supporting licensed nursing staff by providing essential patient care, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with daily living activities to promote patient comfort and well-being. The Nursing Assistant ensures adherence to infection control protocols and wound care procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. By maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with the healthcare team, the Nursing Assistant contributes to the continuity and quality of patient care. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant training program.
• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent as required by state regulations.
• Basic proficiency in computer use for documentation purposes.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care and mobility assistance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in assisted living or primary care settings.
• Additional certifications in wound care or infection control.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated compassion and patience in patient care.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
• Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure accurately and timely.
• Provide wound care under the supervision of nursing staff, ensuring proper cleaning and dressing changes.
• Implement infection control measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases within the care environment.
• Maintain clear and accurate patient records and report any changes in patient condition to the nursing team.
• Support patients in assisted living settings by promoting independence and providing compassionate care.
• Utilize basic computer skills to document patient information and communicate with healthcare professionals.
• Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance to ensure consistent patient care and team collaboration.
