Description

聽聽The Billing Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely billing, collection, payment posting, and follow-up of patient and insurance accounts to ensure appropriate reimbursement for hospital services. This position serves as a resource for patients, insurance companies, physicians' offices, and other departments by providing exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, payer, and hospital billing regulations. He/She works collaboratively with all departments to promote efficient revenue cycle operations and positive patient experiences, while functioning as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.

Required Skills/Abilities:聽

路 Knowledge of hospital billing practices and revenue cycle operations

路 Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance and third-party payer regulations

路 Medical billing terminology and UB-04 claim requirements

路 Strong customer service and interpersonal skills聽

路 Excellent verbal and written communication skills

路 Strong organizational and time management skills

路 Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines

路 Ability to analyze and resolve billing discrepancies

路 Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

路 Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.


Education and Experience:

路 High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required聽

路 Associate Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred

路 At least 1 year of experience with hospital billing, revenue cycle, or healthcare business office preferred


Physical Requirements:聽

Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, lift, balance, sit, kneel, hear, reach, pull, talk, see, turn, carry, push, handle and write. The degree to which any of these is done depends on the job. This job requires you to reach above head, push/pull 5 lbs, lift/carry up to 15 lbs, and lift from floor and waist level.
