Description

  

The Emergency Department RN has the responsibility to work under the supervisor and the ER Manager to provide the maximum standards of care to all patients who present to Mizell Memorial Hospital for emergency and/or outpatient care and for actively participating in continuous Quality Improvement by cooperation, setting an example, and continuously striving to improve patient care/satisfaction. 

Requirements

Education: 

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • 2 years of experience as an RN preferred 
  • At least 1 year of emergency experience required

License: 

  • Current AL State Nursing License
  • BLS & ACLS


Requirements:  Must have completed at least one year of hospital ER nursing experience is required and completion of a critical care course is preferred. PALS preferred. Computer skills are a must. Completion of Critical Care course/Trauma Nurse Core course desirable.

  

Duties Include: Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementing and evaluation. The quality of care given will be in keeping with the policies and procedures of nursing to meet the health needs of the patients. Provide age specific care as planned and made up of infants to geriatric patients. Maintain good working relationship among staff, co-workers and customers. Use good people and communication skills along with a positive attitude. Collaboration with other professional disciplines must be maintained to endure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcome. You must provide other nursing duties as required.
