The Field Technician is responsible for performing service, repair, and maintenance work at job sites or customer locations. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards while delivering a high level of customer service. Depending on the business unit, work may include building product installation and service such as doors, windows, or related components. 


What you'll do:

  • Perform scheduled service, maintenance, and repair work based on work orders or service requests 
  • Diagnose issues and implement appropriate solutions in the field 
  • Complete service documentation accurately and in a timely manner 
  • Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding service status and findings 
  • Prepare and organize materials, tools, and equipment needed for service calls 
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality and safety standards 
  • Maintain service vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working condition 
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures and report any unsafe conditions 
  • Support scheduling and coordination of service activities as needed 
  • Perform additional duties as required 

 

 


What you'll bring:

  • Experience in service, maintenance, construction, or a related field preferred 
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills 
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively 
  • Good communication and customer service skills 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work 
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • Familiarity with tools, equipment, and field service operations 
  • Experience with building products such as doors, windows, or similar systems 
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record 
  • Experience working in customer-facing or field-based roles 
  • Ability to work in field, construction, warehouse, or outdoor environments 
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the day 
  • Ability to lift and move materials as required 
  • Ability to work extended hours based on business needs 
  • Ability to travel between job sites and locations if required
