Job Description

  • Purpose: The Inpatient Clinical Specialist Pharmacist provides distributive and clinical pharmacy services to the inpatients and outpatients of the Medical University Hospitals and clinics. Pharmacists provide supervision of pharmacy technicians per South Carolina Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Requirements:
    • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 
      • A doctoral degree of Pharmacy or Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from an ACPE Accredited School of Pharmacy is required.
      • Completion of a pharmacy residency preferred.
    • LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS:
      • SC Registered Pharmacist License (or eligible for SC Pharmacist License)
      • Basic Life Support certification: Must be BLS Certified within three months of hire date and maintain certification throughout employment.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Training and Education: Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Completion of a pharmacy residency preferred. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
