Maintenance Technician-Split Shift

Overview

Our Pet Supplies Plus distribution center in Orangeburg, SC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to inspect, install replace, align and repair equipment and machines in support of distribution of all of our pet-friendly merchandise within our store supply chain.

Responsibilities/Qualifications

Maintenance Technician key responsibilities include:

• Repairing distribution center equipment and machines, such as lift trucks, material handling equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic controls, using hand and power tools.
• Inspecting, installing, replacing, rebuilding, and/or aligning mechanical parts, lighting systems and electrical components. Using precision measuring/testing equipment and reviewing electrical drawings in order to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems. Reviewing mechanical blueprints and manuals to identify parts to be ordered.
• Completing work order forms according to established procedures.
• Recording part numbers and other pertinent order information on hard copy forms and forwarding to appropriate persons for processing.
• Maintaining a professional, helpful attitude in dealings with co-workers, supervisors and their departmental staff at all times.
• Cleaning and maintaining work area to ensure safety as well as easy retrieval of tools and equipment.
• Performing preventive maintenance tasks on forklifts and conveyor systems, without supervision.
• Consistently using proper lockout/tagout procedures and adhering to safety procedures within the facility.
• Performing some janitoiral activities.

Maintenance Technician requirements include:

• 5-7 years experience in facilities/maintenance.
• Associate’s Degree or Vocational Training.
• Self-starter, driven individual.
• Ability to prioritize actions and projects.
• Ability to complete repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and knowledge of building requirements for each system.
• Detailed knowledge of maintenance procedures, preventive maintenance schedules and distribution center equipment.
• Analytical ability necessary to analyze, diagnose and correct moderately complex mechanical problems.
• Basic knowledge of welding, cutting and carpentry.
