Job Summary

We're looking for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support the accurate movement of materials, parts, and products throughout our facility. In this role, you'll receive incoming shipments, prepare outgoing orders, maintain shipping records, and help ensure materials are delivered to the right locations safely, accurately, and on time.

Shift: 2nd shift, Monday-Friday 11:00am-7:00pm

Union: This position is represented by Local 475.

Shift Differential: Provide hourly shift differential

Starting Rate: $28.45/hr

Training: New hires must be available to train on 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00a-3:00p for a minimum of 90 days before transitioning to their regularly assigned shift. 

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, invoices, and other shipping documents.
  • Unpack incoming materials and identify, document, and communicate any shortages, damages, or discrepancies.
  • Prepare materials and products for shipment by packaging, labeling, and staging orders for pickup.
  • Determine appropriate shipping methods and coordinate shipments with carriers and transportation providers.
  • Load and unload materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Route materials and parts to the appropriate departments and production areas.
  • Complete data entry and maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with customer requirements.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and packaging materials.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be fluent in English, (speaking, reading, writing)
  • Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, or material handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to use computers and learn basic data entry and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to accurately calculate and verify quantities, measurements, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to read, understand, and complete shipping documents, records, and reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling materials and documentation.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment or obtain certification as required.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle materials in support of shipping and receiving operations.

 

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial equipment.
  • Experience using ERP, inventory, warehouse management, or shipping software systems.
  • Aerospace, manufacturing, or industrial warehouse experience.
  • Current forklift certification.

 

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • May be required to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying warehouse temperatures.
  • Required PPE includes safety glasses and other protective equipment as required by site safety policies.
