REPSONSIBILITIES: The Department of Mass Communications invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Mass Communications with a specialization in broadcast journalism in news and sports for the Fall 2026-2027 academic year. The selected individual will teach undergraduate media production courses and requires teaching competencies in broadcast journalism, broadcast news studio production, sports broadcast, multimedia production of news and sports with proficiency in contemporary media business models. The selected individual should have basic knowledge of Media, Digital Media/Convergence, and production courses and be able to support the overall mass communications curriculum.  The candidate will supervise and support department production projects, facilities and students. Candidate will participate in mentoring, research and service activities as required and perform any other duties within the scope of the position.   QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:  MA/MS in Mass Communications with a minimum of 18 documented hours in Mass Communications at the graduate level required.  PHD preferred ABD will be considered; 3-5 years of industry experience in broadcast journalism and /or news production; philosophical commitment to digital, technological and disciplinary integration; knowledge about AI or modern technologies in communications; Knowledge and or experience with ACEJMC accreditation. Expertise in the area of Adobe Creative Suites Software, Social Media, Video and Audio Editing Software, such as Avid Editing, ProTools and Final Cut Pro, required. Basic knowledge of Multi-Media & Convergence Equipment expected.
