Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder with ASME Code Section 9 experience to join our client's manufacturing team in Orchard Park, NY. This role is responsible for welding products from start to finish while ensuring compliance with fabrication drawings, quality standards, and safety requirements. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Weld products from start to finish, including layout, fit-up, welding, and grinding, in accordance with fabrication drawings and NDE requirements
  • Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
  • Understand and accurately apply weld symbols
  • Demonstrate proper welding techniques and procedures
  • Verify heat numbers prior to product assembly
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and SAW welding in a production environment
  • Operate welding equipment, grinders, and plasma cutters
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations and encourage compliance among team members
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping and organization standards
  • Communicate effectively with manufacturing and engineering teams

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of welding experience in a manufacturing setting required
  • ASME Code Section 9 welding experience required
  • Ability to weld various metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper/nickel alloys
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting weld symbols
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
