Family Haven is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to building a community of happy, healthy individuals and families through the prevention and treatment of child abuse and trauma. With locations in Orem and Lehi, we provide a range of family support programs designed to strengthen relationships and promote long-term well-being.


This community services internship offers a hands-on opportunity to support our programs, outreach efforts, and day-to-day operations. Interns contribute in a variety of ways, including assisting with events, supporting children in our nursery, coordinating projects, and helping connect families with resources. This role is ideal for students interested in gaining practical experience in nonprofit work and community engagement while making a meaningful impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assist with community outreach events and connect with families in the community
  • Support nursery operations by helping care for children in a safe, positive environment
  • Conduct research and outreach calls to help connect families with essential resources
  • Help organize and coordinate supply drives for programs and seasonal initiatives
  • Collaborate on group volunteer projects and service initiatives


Qualifications



  • Students with coursework in Family Sciences, Psychology, Public Health, Health Promotion, or related fields
  • Enrollment in a program is preferred but not required; relevant coursework is required
  • Commitment of at least 12 weeks, up to a maximum of two semesters
  • Availability to participate in-person during regular business hours, with occasional evenings or Saturdays
  • Expectation of 10–12 hours per week

Supervision


Interns are supported by the Community Services Director or a member of her team, who provide guidance and feedback throughout the internship.
