Join Wasatch Behavioral Health as a Full-Time Human Service Worker at Aspire Academy in Orem, Utah, earning $17.50–$22.17/hour. In this rewarding role, you'll support adolescent females ages 12–17 in a structured, therapeutic residential setting. Many of the youth we serve are in state custody and are working through complex mental health challenges, including trauma, self-harm, substance use, and family disruption. You'll build meaningful relationships, provide compassionate support, and help create a safe, stable environment where clients can develop healthy coping skills, build resilience, and work toward lasting recovery. Schedule: Sunday–Saturday (days are varied), 2:00 PM–11:00 PM (hours are varied, occasional graves)
Compensation: $17.50–$22.17 DOE

What You'll Do as a Human Service Worker

  • Provide compassionate support, supervision, and encouragement to adolescent program participants throughout the day.
  • Facilitate structured activities, life skills groups, and daily routines that promote emotional growth and personal development.
  • Build trusting relationships with youth while modeling positive behavior, healthy coping strategies, and effective communication.
  • Support adolescents who are working through challenges such as trauma, family disruption, self-harm, substance use, emotional regulation, and other behavioral health concerns.
  • Assist with crisis intervention and help maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.
  • Document client interactions, behaviors, progress, and observations accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with therapists, supervisors, nurses, and other members of the treatment team to support individualized care plans.
  • Encourage youth as they develop coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and work toward treatment goals.
  • Provide consistent guidance, structure, and positive reinforcement to help residents build confidence and resilience.
  • Help create an environment where adolescents feel safe, supported, and empowered to make meaningful progress in their recovery.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to stay calm, patient, and grounded during challenging situations
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and eager to learn
  • Experience or education in mental/behavioral health is helpful but not required
  • Must pass a background check and meet WBH hiring standards
  • Spanish speakers may qualify for a wage increase

Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment in the position, you must provide an official copy of licensure or certification.
