About this Role

Probst Electric, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to the Shared Services Controller, this role supports day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, staying organized, and contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of the company’s financial operations while being part of a growing, high-performing team

What You'll Do

The Staff Accountant role will have various accounting and finance responsibilities, including but not limited to the following:

• Perform general ledger and cost accounting functions in support of construction operations
• Reconcile bank accounts and other general ledger accounts—collaborate with departments to resolve discrepancies
• Support preparation and filing of required federal, state, and local tax forms
• Execute month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and supporting documentationMaintain compliance with internal accounting policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and cross-departmental workflow

What You'll Bring

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• At least one year of accounting or related experience
• Familiarity with JD Edwards is a definite plus
• Prior construction industry accounting experience
• Experience supporting month-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office, with the ability to analyze and manage financial data
• Ability to pass required drug and background screening
