Automation Specialist, Senior

What you get to do:

As a Water Quality Automation Technician, you will provide key support for our year-round park operational needs. You will:

  • Perform routine inspections of all Water Quality Life Support Systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair systems.
  • Set up and install systems for new and existing units.
  • Perform bench and field repair.
  • Plan workload with minimal supervision.
  • Train others in general system operations and functions.
  • Strictly adhere to all safety procedures.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What it takes to succeed:  

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 4 years of electrical controls experience
  • Advanced experience working with VFD’s, PLC’s and controllers
  • Ability to write Delta code
  • Familiar with computer automated systems & the associated equipment
  • Familiar with repairing ozonators
  • Good understanding of blueprints and schematic diagrams
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Good mechanical skills required
  • Advance experience in installing conduit (PVC, EMT, Rigid) and low voltage raceways preferred
  • Excellent communication and math skills

What else is important:       

  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and push/pull 100 lbs.
  • Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed.
  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing).
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors and cold/heat temperature extremes. Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Work a flexible schedule/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.
