Automotive Upholstery Technician

Revology Cars is hiring an experienced Upholstery Technician to build and install world-class, premium-quality interiors for its reproduction 1960s Mustangs.

PAY AND BENEFITS

• An upholstery technician at Revology Cars will make between $23.00 and $32.00 per hour, depending on their skills and experience
• This is not a flat rate job - the pay is stable, and you don't have to worry about not being assigned enough hours
• The work week is 6:15 am to 2:45 pm Monday through Friday

ABOUT THE JOB

• Upholstery technicians at Revology Cars create world-class premium interiors for 1960s Mustang automobiles
• The upholstery department cuts, sews, and fits leather seat upholstery, trims seats, and wraps interior trim panels in leather and vinyl
• Some upholstery techs also install carpet, interior trim panels, and/or convertible tops
• We use premium OEM materials, including Nappa leather from Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari, and Rolls-Royce, and 100% wool square weave carpet
• The variety of jobs available means there is a path to career growth as a technician becomes more skilled

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of five (5) years of upholstery experience.
• Capable of taking patterns and making templates from scratch.
• Capable of using single and double needle machines.
• Capable of inspecting hides and knowledge of common defects.
• Capable of solving problems.
• Experienced machine operator.
• Ability and willingness to learn and follow safety rules and procedures.
• Ability to perform manual labor, standing and walking much of the time, and with a certain amount of manual dexterity (the ability to pick up, handle, and manipulate tools, parts, and/or materials quickly and accurately).
• Ability to maneuver into, around, and about vehicles or components on an assembly line. Tasks may require a certain amount of reaching, twisting, and bending.
• Ability to learn, remember, and maintain pace of steps involved in performing a job after instruction, training, and familiarization with the tasks.
• Ability and willingness to understand and follow instructions, both verbal and written.
• Ability to perceive differences in very specific details when inspecting parts or work performed, checking for defects or quality issues, or when distinguishing various parts/components by identification number or code.
• Ability and willingness to work in a team environment, including helping co-workers, maintaining, and promoting a safe work environment, treating co-workers with dignity and respect regardless of personal differences, and accepting and following instructions and requests from leadership.
• Able to plan, organize, and manage work effectively.
• Ability and willingness to follow work instructions and do things the same way, to the same high standard of quality, every time.
• All positions require familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to use, or willingness to learn how to use, an iPad.
