Job Summary:  Behavior Specialists provide guidance and development of behavior interventions, MTSS process, and FBA/BIP interventions for classroom staff and behavior coaches. Job Responsibilities: Provide support and guidance to the behavior coaches modeling social skills groups interventions for classroom staff with students in MTSS Tier 2. Provide support and guidance to the behavior coaches modeling behavior interventions for classroom staff with students in MTSS Tier 2. Develop specific behavior interventions and strategies for classroom staff to use with students in MTSS Tier 2. Conduct observations, surveys, and data collection for students in MTSS Tier 2 to determine placement in MTSS Tier 3. Monitor and track MTSS process including open consents, data, and development requirements. Develop Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) for students on or entering MTSS Tier 3. Develop Behavior Improvement Plans (BIP) for students on or entering MTSS Tier 3. Model social skills, target BIP behaviors, and replacement behavior interventions for behavior coaches. Monitor and support/assist behavior coach led Tier 3 social skills groups. Monitor and support/assist behavior coach led Tier 3 target BIP behaviors and replacement behavior interventions. Monitor and track behavior coach schedule with students on MTSS Tier 2 and Tier 3. Graph/monitor data for treatment integrity and procedure fidelity for behavior coaches and classroom staff. Provide feedback to behavior coaches and classroom staff on performance with social skills groups, direct replacement behavior interventions, de-escalation procedures, and data collection. Train, model, and reinforce behavior interventions for behavior coaches and classroom staff. Attend Individual Education Plan (IEP), Individual Family Support Plan (IFSP), Multi-Tier Support System (MTSS), Student Study, and behavior meetings as needed. Report relevant behavior topics to principal, and director of behavior Maintain best practices related to behavior, including, state laws, federal laws, and county statutes. Implement Crisis interventions, including, de-escalation and physical restraints when a student/child is in immediate danger to themselves or others. Adhere to all county, state, and federal guidelines on implementation and reporting of physical restraints. Provide professional development/training to school administrators, classroom staff, behavior coaches, and parents on behavior related topics. Maintain and implement knowledge of best practices for behavior topics (e.g., behavior principles/methodologies, de-escalation, crisis, reduction behavior, and replacement behavior interventions) Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
