CLAIMS SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

The Claims Service Representative provides clerical, administrative, and claims support to the Property & Liability Department through interaction with adjusters, customers, vendors, and claimants. Â Â

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Timely and accurate capture of New Claims into the Appian System as assigned.Â
- Query ISO Services on all new claims and save prior injury claims history to claim file.Â
- Process claims information into the claims system.
- Is often the first point of contact for the Member, so superior customer service is a must!
- Represent the Company from a public relations standpoint and must conduct oneself appropriately at all times.Â
- Attend required or necessary training sessions to maintain up-to-date knowledge & skills.Â
- Assist adjusters in claim follow-up tasks, as assigned.Â
- Establish and maintain customer relationships through courteous and efficient service of customer requests.
- Answer phones and provide superior service to the callers; assist at the front desk phones.Â
- Timely and accurately saves imaged mail into the claim file; with proper labeling of documents.Â
- Scan incoming mail, as scheduled. Â
- Compile information and outgoing mail correspondence as requested.
- Perform other duties as required.
Â
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESÂ
- Knowledge of standard office procedures and equipment.
- Knowledge of insurance terminology.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and exchange information with others clearly and concisely.
- Skill in typing at least 35 WPM and proficiency in operating a computer.
- Ability to accurately compare and verify information.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various personalities, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Department heads, managers, employees and vendors.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions and when dealing with a variety of personalities.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
 High school diploma or GED with one to three years of experience within an insurance claims environment involving interaction with claims adjusters.  Â
