Position Summary

Provides direct clinical services such as psychological testing, case consultation, clinical supervision, and diagnostic evaluations on patients and families within a multidisciplinary team setting.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions
• Participates as a member of the Family Support Plan Team and makes recommendations for appropriate early intervention services.
• Contributes to the development and/or maintenance of clinical programs.
• Psychologically evaluates patients and their total situation to determine appropriate care plan to meet the needs of the patient, as well as the patient's family.
• Assesses patient needs through clinical interview, chart/history review, and psychological testing procedures.
• Supervises doctoral students.
• Maintains current knowledge of procedures, equipment, and supplies necessary for state-of-the art assessment and treatment of patients and makes recommendations to the Clinical Team Leader for revision/renewal.
• Consults with physician, nursing personnel and other members of the multidisciplinary team to develop optimal treatment plans for patients.
• Provides all services in a family-centered, strengths oriented manner. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status, identify patient’s needs and provide the appropriate care and treatment planning.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

 

Other Related Functions
• Acts as an education resource to the departments and health care teams.
• Intervenes as a crisis counselor in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment as deemed appropriate by the respective Department Manager/Medical Director(s).
• Complies with established hospital and department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, and safety and infection control.
• Maintains required records, reports and files


Qualifications

Education/Training
• Doctorate in Psychology from an APA approved program.
• Completion of an APA approved pre-doctoral internship.
• Completion of residency requirements for the State of Florida.

 

Licensure/Certification
Licensure as a psychologist, in the State of Florida.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) certification required for certain Pediatric Specialty Practices.

 

Experience
Two (2) years’ experience as a child psychologist, to include postdoctoral experience.
