Commercial Electrical Superintendent
Position Summary
Clark Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to oversee commercial electrical projects and lead field crews. This position is responsible for coordinating labor, materials, schedules, safety, quality, and jobsite documentation to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily field operations for large commercial electrical projects.
- Plan and coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and project schedules.
- Lead, train, and supervise field employees.
- Ensure installations comply with project specifications, the NEC, local codes, and OSHA standards.
- Monitor labor productivity, job costs, material usage, and project progress.
- Conduct weekly coordination and safety meetings.
- Maintain daily reports, three-week look-ahead schedules, and required project documentation.
- Coordinate punch-list completion and project closeout.
- Communicate project updates and concerns to the Project Manager and company leadership.
- Build positive relationships with customers, contractors, inspectors, and project partners.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Foreman, Superintendent, or similar leadership role within electrical construction.
- Commercial, institutional, or industrial project experience required.
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, building systems, and cost control.
- Advanced ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Thorough knowledge of the NEC, NFPA requirements, local codes, and OSHA standards.
- Experience managing crews, schedules, labor productivity, and material costs.
- Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Journeyman license and OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
- Mid- or high-rise and luxury hotel project experience is a plus.
- Must successfully complete a drug screening and motor vehicle record check.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform overhead work for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely use tools and transport materials around active jobsites.
- Adequate vision and hearing, with or without reasonable accommodation.
