The Configuration Manager is responsible for establishing and formalizing the organization’s configuration and asset management practices to support consistency, traceability, and operational stability. This role owns configuration baselines, physical and software asset inventories, licensing, approved software lists, and configuration tracking for software builds and customer /

government-facing deliverables.


As the organization continues to evolve its technology and delivery capabilities, the Configuration Manager will define standards, processes, and documentation that ensure systems, assets, and software builds remain controlled, compliant, and auditable. This role works closely with IT Operations, Engineering, Security, and Program teams to reduce configuration

drift, improve visibility, and strengthen confidence in delivered software and infrastructure.


Requirements

  • Establish and maintain configuration and asset management policies, standards, and procedures
  • Define configuration identification, control, status tracking, and verification processes
  • Ensure configuration management integrates with change, release, and deployment activities
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of physical IT assets, including endpoints, servers, peripherals, and network equipment
  • Track asset lifecycle from procurement through deployment, reassignment, and retirement
  • Support onboarding and offboarding activities through accurate asset tracking
  • Partner with Procurement and Finance to align asset records with purchasing and depreciation data
  • Develop and maintain baseline configurations standards for: End-user endpoints, servers and infrastructure platforms, core applications and shared services
  • Software Asset & Licensing Management • Monitor configuration compliance and identity configuration drift
  • • Coordinate remediation efforts for non-compliant systems
  • • Maintain an accurate inventory of
  •  software assets and license entitlements
  • • Track license usage, renewals, and compliance requirements
  • • Coordinate internal audits and remediation of licensing gaps
  • • Partner with Procurement and Finance on
  • renewals and true-ups
  • Software Governance • Own and maintain the approved software list
  • • Ensure software aligns with security,
  • supportability, and licensing standards
  • Development Pipeline Configuration Tracking • Track and document configuration items associated with software builds produced through the development pipelines
  • • Maintain version, build, and release traceability for customer and government deliverables
  • • Ensure deployed builds align with approved baselines, configurations, and release documentation
  • • Support audits, customer reviews, and compliance requirements by providing accurate configuration and build records
  • • Collaborate with Engineering and Program teams to ensure configuration
