Job Summary:

Load and operate tumbling and drying equipment, sandblasting machines, and utilize various hand tools to deburr machined parts for the aerospace, commercial, and defense industry. These must maintain adherence to print specifications and tolerances. Maintain and clean equipment when needed and keep critical supplies stocked. We are seeking a motivated individual that is looking to start or grow their career within the Machining Department at DMC.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Retrieve, load, and tumble parts in tumbling equipment under specified run conditions.
  • Utilize hand tools to deburr fine parts and achieve desired tolerance ranges per the print specification.
  • Polish and blend parts with proper method as required (i.e. power tool or manual).
  • Inspect parts for visual appearance and finish quality.
  • Maintain equipment in a clean and orderly condition
  • Complete all required job documentation and log time sheets as needed.
  • Follow all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull over 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to work while both seated and standing for shift duration depending on the job requirements.
  • Utilize calipers, gages, micrometers, and other equipment to ensure quality requirements are met.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Ability to use precision tools (i.e., calipers) to take accurate measurements
  • Must have sufficient manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate machines properly required
  • Must have sufficient visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines and visually inspect parts produced required 
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship preferred
  • One to two (1-2) years machine shop experience is preferred
  •  Must wear hearing protection while in established areas
