Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor maximizes the efforts of the entire department to ensure compliance with all standards of guest satisfaction, cleanliness, sanitation and productivity.  Each supervisor will play a vital housekeeping role in ensuring all guests experience the natural beauty comfort and custom hand finished details that our guest rooms offer.  They will work with department leadership and team members to ensure the effectiveness and overall success of the department.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff in the performance of all daily procedures to ensure they are performed to hotel cleanliness and brand standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Prepare and distribute assignments to staff and review priorities.
  • Inspect guest rooms, guest corridors, elevator foyer area, service area including linen closet, staff restroom. and storage areas.
  • Inspect public areas/bathrooms, restaurants, pool areas, offices, and service areas after being cleaned by respective personnel, using designated checklists.
  • Assist staff with their job functions where needed to ensure optimum cleanliness and service standards for guests.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum three years of housekeeping supervisory experience required.
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling/requirements, and use of housekeeping equipment.
  • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Provide legible communication. Compute mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Ability to ascertain departmental training needs and provide such training.
  • Ability to direct performance of staff and follow up with corrections when needed.
  • Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle guest issues effectively.
  • Comfortable using hotel communication devices (technology).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
