HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST/RECRUITER

Job Scope/Overview:

The HR Generalist manages the daily functions of the HR Department including interviewing and hiring staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, enforcing HR policies and procedures, manages daily communications, and complaints and grievances. The majority of the responsibility is for recruiting/interviewing and hiring staff.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities:
  • HR point of contact for managers and employees on related contracts.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Responsible for recruitment and onboarding activities through ADP.
  • Handles all employee related queries.  Provides guidance for managers on employee related issues.
  • Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, USERRA, ADA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, and labor agreement) in collaboration with HR Manager/Director.
  • Follow through with ADP on COBRA administration process and open enrollment.
  • Follow through with ADP to ensure the management of workers’ compensation program in accordance with applicable OSHA and workers’ compensation laws.
  • Maintains physical and digital files for employees' documents, benefits, and attendance records.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings.
  • Conducts safety orientation training.
  • Supports recruitment and selection efforts.
  • Collaborates with HR Manager to promote and maintain the motivation and engagement of staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the HRM from time to time.
  • Serve as Contract Administrators.

This position requires:
  • At least 3 years' experience in HR.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish and English).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of administrative tasks and responsibilities.
  • Advanced computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Problem solving and resourceful thinking.
  • Detailed oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Full availability to Travel.

Physical Demands:

While performing the responsibilities of the HR Coordinator’s job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
