Position: Laboratory Assistant II – ORMC Core Laboratory

Are you detail‑oriented, passionate about patient care, and ready to grow your healthcare career? Orlando Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant II to join our dedicated laboratory team and support essential diagnostic services that make a real difference in patient outcomes every day.

What You’ll Do

As a Laboratory Assistant II, you will:

✅ Receive, process, label, and prepare specimens for testing

✅ Register patients and enter laboratory orders with accuracy

✅ Demonstrate strong knowledge of specimen collection and handling

✅ Process pathology specimens while maintaining specimen integrity

✅ Support patient registration and reimbursement workflows

✅ Assist with laboratory quality improvement initiatives

✅ Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and work areas

✅ Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, clinicians, and team members ✅ Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards

✅ Assist with report distribution, filing, scheduling, and daily lab operations

✅ Perform phlebotomy as needed (with approved competency)

What We’re Looking For

✔ High School Diploma or GED ✔ Two (2) years of laboratory or patient care experience preferred ✔ Current students in Nursing, Medical Technology, Pre‑Med, or related science fields may substitute for required experience ✔ Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills ✔ Ability to work independently and collaboratively ✔ Flexibility to support departmental needs and varying schedules
