National Power, LLC is seeking a safety-conscious Level 2 DC Installer to join our critical infrastructure team. Under the general direction of the CI Manager/Project Manager and guidance of a Lead Installer, the Level 2 DC Installer assists with the installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning of Direct Current (DC) power systems, including batteries, rectifiers, inverters, and associated cabling. This role supports essential infrastructure such as telecommunications networks, data centers, and utility facilities. The installer will perform work on active DC power systems while adhering to company safety standards, quality requirements, and customer expectations.

Due to the critical nature of the work and potential impact on customer operations, employees may be required to successfully complete a probationary period demonstrating competency in essential job functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain strong site awareness while working in DC power environments.
  • Understand and apply Telcordia and National Power standards, terminology, and work practices.
  • Read and interpret playbooks, layouts, electrical diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Demonstrate basic electrical knowledge, including DC/AC concepts, circuits, resistance, and current flow.
  • Identify battery types, manufacturers, cable sizes, lug types, and DC power equipment components.
  • Use testing equipment such as voltmeters and amp clamps to perform troubleshooting and verification.
  • Install, route, pull, label, lace, lug, and terminate cables using industry-standard methods.
  • Perform H-tapping, cable lacing, fiber guide installation, and firestopping activities.
  • Install, stack, strap, and prepare batteries for deployment in DC power systems.
  • Assist with project preparation and execution, including infrastructure installation and equipment mounting.
  • Install and configure DC power infrastructure, including bays, battery racks, BDFBs, power plants, rectifiers, inverters, converters, and related equipment.
  • Work independently with limited supervision while maintaining quality workmanship and adherence to standards.
  • Recognize workplace hazards and follow all safety requirements associated with DC power systems.
  • Develop technical proficiency through hands-on experience, with an expected progression period of 3-5 years to reach advanced competency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials utilized, and site conditions
  • Communicate effectively with Lead Installers, Project Managers, and customer representatives throughout project execution
  • Follow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines, company policies, and industry’s best practices
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications Required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience installing DC power equipment or performing related electrical work
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with:
    • Adding or removing wiring and connections on DC power equipment
    • Installing, removing, or replacing telecom batteries
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively
Preferred
  • Experience in telecommunications, data center, utility, or critical infrastructure environments
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Training
  • Experience performing equipment testing and system turn-up activities

Physical Requirements
  • Consistently lift and carry at least 75 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, squat, and climb ladders for extended periods
  • Work on ladders at various heights for prolonged periods
  • Frequently reach above, below, and at shoulder level
  • Frequently bend, twist, stoop, crouch, and squat
  • Adequate vision and hearing to safely perform essential job functions
  • Fine manipulation of the hands/fingers to perform skilled tasks
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle
Work Environment & Travel
  • Travel approximately 50%+ depending on customer sites & locations throughout designated service areas
  • Ability to workday shifts, night shifts, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules as required by project demands
  • Work in telecommunications central offices, cable facilities, data centers, and outdoor environments
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels and varying weather conditions, temperatures, and site environments
  • Overnight travel may be required depending on project location and customer requirements
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
