Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Orthopedic Technician to support orthopedic providers and deliver exceptional patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. Preferred candidates will have prior orthopedic experience and knowledge of casting, splinting, and bracing. Responsibilities include ordering, assembling, and applying various types of casts and orthopedic braces according to physician orders while providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Education/Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Licensure/Certification

  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant (MA), CNA, EMT, or similar clinical background preferred
  • Two (2) years of orthopedic technician experience preferred
  • Previous orthopedic clinic or hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with casting, splinting, bracing, and orthopedic procedures preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred
  • Strong patient care, communication, and organizational skills preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Orders, assembles, applies, and removes casts, splints, braces, and other orthopedic devices according to physician orders.
  • Assists orthopedic surgeons and providers with patient care and orthopedic procedures.
  • Performs patient rounds, charting, charging, and clinical documentation.
  • Assists with patient transportation as needed.
  • Maintains cleanliness and proper functioning of orthopedic equipment and supplies.
  • Participates in quality assurance (QA), quality improvement (QI), and continuing education activities.
  • Collaborates with physicians, clinical staff, and other healthcare team members to ensure a positive patient experience.
