The Principal Interoperability Engineer will serve as the Interoperability SME and contribute to the strategic vision while leading the design, technical execution and delivery of healthcare interoperability initiatives. This role is pivotal in enabling secure, standards-based data exchange across EHRs, health information networks, payers, and third-party systems, supporting our mission to improve patient outcomes and become the most connected CGM in the market. Responsibilities include strategic leadership collaborating with marketing, commercial, clinical, product, and engineering teams; representing the organization in industry groups and standards bodies; designing scalable, secure, and standards-compliant interoperability frameworks; leading development and deployment of APIs, data pipelines, and integration services; ensuring compliance with healthcare data privacy and security regulations; leading and mentoring a team of engineers; partnering with EHR vendors, health systems, payers, and third-party developers; and monitoring system performance and data quality. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 8+ years product development experience, extensive knowledge of design control and risk management practices, deep understanding of EHR systems and interoperability standards, and experience developing and deploying EHR interoperability solutions. Preferred qualifications include HL7 certification, middleware solution certifications, experience with large integrated delivery networks, familiarity with diverse technical integrations, and experience with regulated medical device software development and agile methods.
