The role you’ll contribute: Responsible for performing routine respiratory care procedures for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients per hospital needs. This position initiates and maintains appropriate therapy, including life support techniques and equipment. This role provides preventive, supportive, and corrective interventions related to the cardiopulmonary system in assigned patient care areas. In addition, this position applies knowledge and skills necessary for appropriate interactions with staff, patients, and families. Additionally, this role demonstrates and maintains minimum competency in all applicable clinical skills.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Initiates, maintains, transports, and monitors mechanical ventilators to include basic conventional modes of ventilation per policy and procedure.
Utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and confers with multidisciplinary team to determine efficacy of therapy in a cost and time efficient manner making appropriate recommendations and changes per department protocol.
Performs airway maintenance including: proper use of manual resuscitators, oral and nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, and airway suctioning.
Performs respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies and makes recommendations to the most efficient delivery method per protocol.
