Orlando Health is a 3,200-bed system that includes 15 wholly-owned hospitals and emergency departments; rehabilitation services, cancer institutes, heart institutes, imaging and laboratory services, wound care centers, physician offices for adults and pediatrics, skilled nursing facilities, an in-patient behavioral health facility, home healthcare services in partnership with LHC Group, and urgent care centers in partnership with CareSpot Urgent Care. Position Summary
The Security Specialist, Sr. is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing changes to the access control badge reader system,
the closed-circuit security camera system, the intrusion alarm system, and the panic alarm systems.
Essential Functions Security Systems
• Responsible for determining the need for physical security systems at all facilities.
• Determines the type and extent of security equipment needed, obtains proposals from vendors, and supervises the installation of
security devices.
• Oversees the operation of physical security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, and closed-circuit television.
• Oversees the operation of electronic infant security systems throughout the Corporation.
• Responsible for storing data generated by the above security systems and for making the data available to be used in any required
investigations.
• Responsible for maintaining effective liaison with the Information Services Department to ensure communication between the
elements of various security systems.
• Assists Project Managers by providing security expertise for renovations and new building projects.
• Responsible for assisting the Identification Badge Program including producing and issuing identification badges, operation of the
Badge Room and related equipment, issuing parking decals, and making access code changes as necessary. The Security Specialist,
Sr. reports to the Director, Security Systems for systems-related issues.
• Responsible for assisting other departments with assessment and selection of new and/or additional security measures. This will
be done in close harmony with the Biomedical/Electronics Project Coordinator.
• Responsible to frequently review and evaluate operating efficiency and quality of recorded images in the closed-circuit camera
system.
• Meets with department managers to review security levels for the access control system.
• All new construction and remodeling projects will be coordinated through the Security Specialist, Sr. to determine locations for
card readers, individual and department access levels and camera locations.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal,
state, and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

• Stays informed of evolving technology related to crime prevention access control, and CCTV.

Education/Training
Associate’s degree in Electronics, Criminal Justice or related field. May substitute years of experience and education on a 1:1 basis.

Licensure/Certification
Valid Florida driver’s license with no more than six (6) points, at least 21 years of age, and must be insurable under the Orlando Health
insurance carrier’s requirements and standards.
Experience
Five (5) years extensive experience with significant knowledge of security and identification systems required.
